FEATURED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Heart of Florida United Way is launching a ReadingPals program this Fall. ReadingPals aims to pair passionate and committed volunteers with preschoolers who need a little extra help developing vital pre-literacy skills. Volunteers commit one hour per week over the course of the school year with their pal, either a 1-hour session once a week or two 30-minute sessions twice a week during school hours. If you are interested in becoming a ReadingPal, please contact Jaquala Montalvo at Jaquala.montalvo@hfuw.org, or find more information at www.UnitedWayReadingPals.org

  • Early Learning Coalition of Orange County is looking for caring volunteers to become Book Buddies to promote reading, writing, and social skills. Volunteers will agree to receive letters from a child aged 3 or 4, purchase a book for the child based on his/her interest, write letters to their selected child. This exchange takes place 3 times from January to May 2016. For more information visit http://elcoforangecounty.org/get-involved/volunteer/ or contact Jerry Brady at 407-337-1224 or jbrady@elcoc.org.
