WUCF AND PBS LEARNINGMEDIA PARTNER TO BRING 100,000 DIGITAL RESOURCES TO EDUCATORS IN ORANGE COUNTY
WUCF announces a partnership with Florida PBS LearningMedia and Orange County Public Schools to bring free, educational resources to teachers. As teachers return to school this year, their digital desktops will include a new PBS LearningMedia icon. When launched, the icon will take teachers to florida.pbslearningmedia.com and signs them in automatically.
Florida PBS LearningMedia now offers more than 100,000 digital resources available to PreK-12 educators. Since its launch in 2011, PBS LearningMedia continues to actively expand its offerings of education content that appeals to digital native students. Resources include the trusted content for which PBS is well known and also includes content from partners like NASA, National Archives, Kahn Academy and much more. With funding from the Florida Legislature, all resources were mapped to the Florida Standards in 2015.
“WUCF is proud to bring these high quality resources to teachers in our nine county broadcast area through PBS LearningMedia. We are even more thrilled to partner with Orange County Public Schools to give teachers easier access to the site through their LaunchPad icons.” said Polly Anderson, WUCF Executive Director/General Manager. “LearningMedia is a dynamic online content library, with new resources added every day. As the demand for digital resources in the classroom continues to grow, WUCF is pleased to be able to support learners and educators with safe and trusted content.”
Educators can engage more deeply with the new content through a variety of free tools on the site including a lesson builder, quiz maker, storyboard tool and puzzle builder. Students of any age also have the ability to interact directly with the PBS LearningMedia library of resources through PBSstudents.org.
