Explore the Art of Stained Glass on WUCF Artisodes

Posted by Jennifer Cook on

This week on WUCF Artisodes, meet two Central Florida artists and discover their passion for stained glass art and their work to keep this ancient art form alive.

Melbourne-based artists Jerry Preston and John Emery started in stained glass as a hobby, but has turned it into a career and life-long passion.

“Working with stained glass is almost like a Zen therapy. It’s so detailed and so involved and so complex that you get lost in it,” said artist John Emery.  “After the crash of 2008-09, the arts were impacted all over the country. This also impacted the stained glass industry dramatically. There are those of us who are still dedicated and are continuing the tradition.”

And as a part of WUCF’s American Graduate Initiative, meet Nina Gao, a senior at the Masters Academy and the WUCF Artist of the Week.

WUCF Artisodes airs each Thursday on WUCF TV at 8 p.m.
