Growing Bolder Returns To WUCF January 25
This month, PBS stations across the country are welcoming Growing Bolder back to their channel lineups, thanks to a new partnership with WUCF. Currently, over 170 stations across the country have committed to airing the program, produced right here in Central Florida.
Hosted by Orlando broadcast veterans Marc Middleton, Bill Shafer and Wendy Chioji and produced by an Emmy Award-winning team, Growing Bolder tells stories of people enjoying active lifestyles and pursuing their dreams in Central Florida and beyond.
“Growing Bolder is rebranding aging and our message of power and purpose connects with and inspires people of all ages,” says Growing Bolder Executive Producer Katy Widrick. “We’re proud to partner with WUCF who is so committed to bringing quality programming to Orlando-area viewers, as well as breaking new ground with national production for public TV stations.”
With more than 800,000 Facebook followers and a weekly engagement well over 1 million unique followers, the Growing Bolder brand has a proven record of shining the spotlight on ordinary people pursuing extraordinary lives, and smashing stereotypes about what life at 40, 50, 60 and beyond can look like.
Dr. Phil Hoffman, WUCF Executive Director says that Growing Bolder is a pivotal piece in the station’s plans to expand and offer locally produced content to a national audience.
“Growing Bolder has a proven track record of producing inspiring, informational and entertaining content. We are proud to partner and highlight these stories across the country,” Hoffman said.
Growing Bolder aired nationally on PBS stations between 2012-2014 and returns with all new episodes in 2018. Growing Bolder will debut on WUCF TV on January 25 at 8 p.m.
