Robots take over this week’s SciTech Central
Technology is giving adrenaline junkies a new outlet. A group of Central Florida racers are combining miniature technology with these drones to create a new sport through a league called MultiGp.
“MulitGp is a grassroots racing league,” said Chris Thomas, founder of MultiGP. “Here, you’re able to race aggressively, head-to-head, in a really exciting format without the risk of hurting yourself. It’s all the fun of competing in racing without the physical risk.”
Then, head to Daytona Beach and take a look inside the robotics association at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The robotics association is a hands-on program that is completely run by the students and competes in robotic competitions around the world.
Next, learn about Robofest, an autonomous robotics competition for middle and high school students in Tampa. No remote controls and no wireless devices, all of the programming has to be done through computer programming.
Finally, experience paraplegics standing up and using their own feet to walk thanks to robotics. Learn how the research center at Kings College London in London is changing lives for not only paraplegics but surgeons too.
This episode of SciTech Central airs this Thursday, November 12 at 8:30 p.m. on WUCF TV.
