WUCF Artisodes Exhibits Hands-On Experience

Posted by Jennifer Cook on

This week on WUCF Artisodes, visit the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park and take a look at art that encourages touch.

“Normally, you come into a museum and you're always told not to touch art. But for this exhibit we really wanted to encourage interaction,” said Rachel Frisby, a curator at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens  “The Sight Unseen sculpture exhibit at the Polasek Museum, this is all modern interpretations of texture. So we're getting past that kind of classical sculpture feel and that taboo of not touching and bringing it into something more modern and more welcoming.”

And as a part of WUCF’s American Graduate Initiative, meet Jean Marie Glazer, a student at Orlando’s Boone High School, a cellist, a barber shop singer, an opera singer, and the WUCF Artist of the Week.

WUCF Artisodes airs each Thursday on WUCF TV at 8 p.m.
