WUCF Explores Central Florida Neighborhoods

Posted by Jennifer Cook on

Think you know the history behind some of Orlando’s oldest neighborhoods? Think again. Premiering October 5 on WUCF TV, Central Florida Roadtrip takes viewers on a journey through some of the unique history, stories and people that have made Central Florida one of the fastest growing communities.

Each week, a different city in Central Florida will be in the spotlight. You’ll meet Old Bob “The Horse” in Sanford; explore a family feud in Kissimmee; and journey to the Mount Dora Lighthouse, the only registered inland freshwater lighthouse in Florida.

Hosted by WUCF Executive Director Dr. Phil Hoffman and produced by veteran television journalist Buddy Pittman, the program explores the communities and history across the nine-county Central Florida area.

“As someone relatively new to the area, this show helped me better understand the community and area I now call home,” said Hoffman. “People who have lived here for a long time have seen our stories, and have all learned something. We’re proud to bring this type of programming to Central Florida and are anxious to hear reactions.”

Central Florida Roadtrip airs Thursdays, beginning October 5 at 8 p.m. on WUCF TV.
