WUCF TV explores life skills through sports in this week’s Metro Center Outlook

Is there a connection between sports academics and leadership?
This week on Metro Center Outlook, host Dr. Diane Trees sits down with former professional basketball player and HOOPS Life Program owner, Pat Burke and the president of the National Consortium for Academics and Sports, Dr. Richard Lapchick to discuss how teamwork and education can go hand in hand.
When asked about his camp, HOOPS Life, Burke replied, “HOOPS Life is a celebration of taking a sport, you know, weather it’s a basketball, or a football or a Frisbee… what we use in this HOOPS Life Program is the opportunity to have children go through team building and leadership where each individual is going through, in twelve weeks, an understanding of self-awareness.”
Metro Center Outlook airs each Sunday on WUCF TV at 9 a.m.
