WUCF TV explores women in Central Florida in this week’s Metro Center Outlook

Posted by Jennifer Cook on

March is Women’s History Month.  This week on Metro Center Outlook, meet two Central Florida women leaving their mark in Central Florida.

Host Dr. Diane Trees sits down with Seminole County Commission Chairman Brenda Carey, who also runs a business-development training company and is a licensed real-estate agent and broker.

Trees also speaks with Pam Nabors, President and CEO of CareerSource Central Florida to talk about some of the services and assistance available to women who are navigating the job market.

“I think that definitely a lot of employers in the professional and technological services arena are interested in hiring women in those fields, and so they are actively seeking them through the universities, through the colleges, through the career sources efforts here in Central Florida as well as throughout the state,” said Nabors.  “Particularly interested in women in what might be considered non-traditional occupations, so in construction for example.  Construction management and drafting, businesses are very interested in women candidates.”

Metro Center Outlook airs each Sunday on WUCF TV at 9 a.m.
