WUCF TV goes inside Daytona Rising in this week's Metro Center Outlook

Posted by Jennifer Cook on

When it comes to racing, Daytona International Speedway is steeped in racing tradition and history.  For the past year, the track has been in the midst of a $400 million makeover entitled, Daytona Rising.  Daytona International President Joie Chitwood III sits down with host Diane Trees to discuss the project and it's impact on racing and race fans.
"We are reimaging an American icon," said Chitwood.  "We're taking all those great things we see in sports; things that are unique and make sense for all these new football stadiums and basketball arenas and we're marrying that with motorsports and creating the first and only motorsports stadium.  There will be no facility like it on the planet."
Hear details on the progress on the project and learn what else the track has in store for fans.
Metro Center Outlook airs each Sunday on WUCF TV at 9 a.m.
