WUCF TV opens the Ripley’s vault in this month’s ONE Central Florida
On this month’s ONE Central Florida, WUCF takes you inside Orlando’s Ripley’s Believe It or Not! warehouse. A place no one has ever been able to show you on television.
“This is the cornerstone of our company, all of our original cartoons, our TV shows, our radio shows and about 4000 pictures of Robert Ripley himself,” Edward Meyer, vice president of exhibits and archives for Ripley’s. “No one has ever filmed in here before. And within the archive room we have a secret vault where we have some very, very special things hidden.”
Find out what’s hidden inside the vault.
Then, learn about Trades of Hope, an organization that features artisans from around the world and gives them the opportunity to sell their beautiful creations in America.
Next, see how the Second Harvest Food Bank is doing more than collecting and distributing food. The food bank’s culinary training program is helping families get back on their feet by providing them with important life, job and financial skills. This story is presented as part of WUCF’s American Graduate initiative, celebrating success by highlighting stories of champions working to keep kids on the path to graduation.
Finally, we’ll introduce you to Go Baby GO! The University of Central Florida’s physical therapy faculty are now part of this University of Deleware-based mobility project, which purchases toy ride-on vehicles and retrofits them for children with special needs.
ONE Central Florida airs Thursday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m. on WUCF TV.
