WUCF TV to launch new Science & Technology program
WUCF TV is proud to announce a new program featuring the latest breakthroughs in science, technology and innovation. Sci Tech Central premieres Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. and explores cutting edge technology, the innovators creating the startups of tomorrow and the mysteries of the scientific world happening here in Central Florida and across the country.
The half-hour magazine program is a collaborative effort of a group of innovative large market PBS stations as part of the “Major Market Group Science and Technology Initiative.” This collaboration allows PBS stations like WUCF to share their local science and technology features with one another. The weekly series allows Central Florida’s science and technology community to get their stories out to a national audience.
“Technology continues to become further integrated into our everyday lives,” said WUCF TV Executive Director Polly Anderson. “This new program will allow us to highlight some of the amazing work being done here in Central Florida and give us the opportunity to share that on a world stage. With WUCF’s focus on STEM and high school graduation rates, this new program is the perfect fit for our audience.”
WUCF will also create a corresponding Web site (www.wucftv.org/SciTechCentral) with video content, interactive features and exclusive Web content.
SciTech Central premieres Thursday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 p.m. and will continue to air each Thursday on WUCF TV.
