WUCF TV videographer Brian Hirten has received a regional Emmy nomination for his story featuring the See Art Orlando initiative.  The project brought eight new sculptures to the downtown Orlando core and was featured on WUCF TV’s Artisodes in February.
The nearly 4-minute video details the art and vision behind these new Orlando landmarks.
Hirten is one of 5 nominees for crafts achievement in the photography/video essay category.
This segment will air on PBS stations across the country later this year.  To view the segment via YouTube, click here.
“WUCF has the unique opportunity to bring the best of Central Florida to the world, and the world to Central Florida,” said Polly Anderson, WUCF TV General Manager.   “This is the kind of local programming difference that public broadcasting can make.  We’re honored to receive this nomination and look forward to bringing more quality programming to Central Florida.”
The Emmy winners will be announced Dec. 13.
