WUCF TV’s ONE Central Florida Gets Active

Last Updated by Jennifer Cook on

This month’s ONE Central Florida magazine show is all about getting active in different ways all around the sunshine state.

First, follow Ashley Samples of Apopka as she competes in BattleFrog.  The race is an extreme obstacle course series designed by Navy Seals.

“By day I'm a financial analyst, so I sit at a desk for eight hours, so this is kind of my escape from that,” said Samples. “I'm a super competitive person. I could compete over who could eat breakfast the fastest”.

Cocoa Beach is one of the top spots in the United States for wind surfing.  We’ll give viewers a lesson in this sport and see why it’s quickly becoming a popular one in the area.

This month, ONE Central Florida introduces viewers to retired Judge Belvin Perry in the One To Know segment.

Next, you might be familiar with badminton, but did you know high performance badminton is actually the second most played sport in the world?  Darryl Yung, a former Canadian Olympic athlete who played badminton in the 1996 Summer Olympics, has brought his passion for the sport to Central Florida.

Finally, watch the bitter battle between professional arm wrestlers in Ormond Beach and go inside the Central Florida arm wrestling community.

ONE Central Florida airs Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. on WUCF TV.
