WUCF TV’s ONE Central Florida invites you to Dance Happy

Posted by Jennifer Cook on

On this month’s ONE Central Florida, meet a 12-year-old Orlando dancer who is spreading her passion and love of dance to Central Florida’s homeless community.  The “Dance Happy Project” provides a series of four-week dance classes for the children at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

“I started thinking about what it would be like to be homeless and what I would miss,” said Georgia Bernbaum.  “One of the things I thought about what, of what, I thought I would miss … is dance.”  This story is presented as part of WUCF’s American Graduate initiative, bringing awareness to the dropout crisis and encouraging Central Florida’s children to succeed.

Then, head to the rural countryside of Sumter County with top motocross trainer Aldon Baker. Baker’s creating a world-class motocross training facility right here in Central Florida!

Follow ONE to Florida’s oldest continuously running tourist attraction.  Winter Park’s Scenic Boat tour operates seven days a week, 364 days a year and has done so for the last 77 years.

Finally, meet an owl “supermom,” who has been a surrogate mother to hundreds of babies at an avian center in Apopka.

ONE Central Florida airs Thursday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m. on WUCF TV.

You can catch up on old episodes of ONE on the website (http://www.wucftv.org/one).
